…doing stuff everyday in Atlanta

Fondue, Fondue, Fondue

Last night we had the pleasure of hosting a small dinner party for some friend’s on Valentine’s Day. I loved it. I think this might be a new tradition at La Case de Leod. I don’t get the fuss over Valentine’s Day. It seems like a competition of who can post pictures of the best gift, whether it be flowers or something else. Do we really need one day a year where we’re forced to buy gifts to demonstrate our love? If you want my opinion, ours actually, it’s a commercialized holiday. So, to answer your question, no we don’t exchange gifts. We actually exchanged gifts this Christmas for the first time in 5 years. We’re under the assumption that we buy gifts all throughout the year because we want to, not because we have/need to. The unexpected makes it that much more enjoyable.

On the other hand, I don’t understand the hatred towards the holiday either. I enjoy the positive attitude it brings out in people. Any day dedicated to love is pretty great in my opinion. I’ll see comments on people’s Facebook about how they’re single because they’re not afraid to be alone. I find this interesting and bitter. Not all people are with someone because they don’t want to be alone. Sometimes, they find someone they just want to be with. Always.

Now, that I’ve veered off of course completely, I wanted to share our fondue recipe. You can find it here: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Cheese-Fondue-231492

I’ve used this recipe several times and it’s always a hit. Yum. I can still taste all of that cheese. Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. We sure did and had some really great friends over to share the love with.
